Hand In Hand – Little Things Make a BIG Difference

The bond adults and children share is special. In her latest book, Hand In Hand, renowned author-illustrator Rosemary Wells celebrates all that parents and educators do with and for their children from the very beginning – talking and walking, feeding and reading, playing and dreaming. As early childhood educators, we know just how meaningful and important these early bonding experiences are to children’s development. Rosemary reiterated that message in her visit to Mobile on Saturday, September 10th.

“Booking Up Our Kids”, a special Saturday workshop, was held at Dauphin Way Baptist Church from 9:00am – 11:00am and attended by over 130 early childhood professionals. Copies of Hand In Hand were given to several lucky workshop participants as door prizes and Bienville Books was on hand with some of Rosemary’s other titles available for purchase. She also made time to sign each book and held a question/answer session at the end of her workshop.

After her presentation at Dauphin Way, Rosemary finished off her Saturday in Mobile with an afternoon event at Mobile County Public Library’s West Regional Branch. This family-friendly event was attended by educators, parents, children and more! Here are some pictures from Rosemary Wells’ first visit to Alabama’s Gulf Coast….
